Description:

This position is located in the Warehouse, Support Services and Transportation Department, Administrative Services Division, Administrator’s Office, National Gallery of Art. The Department is responsible for the overall material management within the National Gallery of Art, including accountability, utilization and inventory control of government-owned equipment and supplies, storage, and related services.

Requirements:

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook for GS-0342-11.

Candidates must possess at least one year of specialized experience, equivalent in responsibility to the federal GS-11 level, being responsible for the development, implementation, administration, scheduling, coordination, evaluation, and documentation of all aspects of material distribution/movement, and property management.

Those applicants who meet the minimum qualification requirements will be evaluated against these factors to determine the best-qualified candidates:

Comprehensive knowledge of GSA Federal Property Management Regulations, facility management principles and program objectives, technical terminology, and operation principles of a central receiving office and broad, comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of facilities, property storage, movement, receiving, and supply management functions sufficient to supervise and perform assigned responsibilities. Ability to apply a wide range of qualitative and quantitative methods sufficient to plan and conduct in-depth analyses of efficiency and effectiveness of the central receiving program and to develop and implement modified methods and procedures to effectively service the Gallery; to determine the extent of material and labor needed to negotiating contracts for services available through numerous sources; to recommend the most efficient/effective methods for relocation projects and property moves; and to monitor word done by private contractors. Ability to supervise and provide leadership and direction to subordinate staff.
