Defense Finance and Accounting Services (DFAS) mission is to lead the DoD in finance and accounting by ensuring the delivery of efficient, exceptional quality pay and financial information.Requirements:
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-04) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.GS-05 Specialized experience is defined as: assisting in inspecting files for proper labeling before storage, review and edit correspondence, and use office automation equipment to keep databases and spreadsheets current.
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-05) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-06 Specialized experience is defined as: organizing and filing records for business program operations; maintaining inventories and administrative records; preparing and reviewing outgoing correspondence for format, grammar, and typographical errors; and responding to customer inquiries relating to the business program and operations.
One year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to that of the next lower grade (GS-06) within the federal service, which demonstrates the ability to perform the duties of the position, is required.
GS-07 Specialized experience is defined as: maintaining and monitoring the management of records; examining filing procedures; gathering and analyzing data to identify problems and recommend solutions; update or revise existing databases or spreadsheets; identifying rules, guidelines, regulations, and precedents to apply to specific situations; and providing guidance to lower level staff working with records.
Paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual, community, student, social) is qualifying. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience.
