Description:

This position will be working third (3rd) shift, Mon-Fri, 2000-0400. First week will be during the day for training purposes. It is located in the Fitness Complex, Fitness/Sports/Aquatics Division of the Morale, Welfare and Recreation Directorate, SUBASE, Kings Bay, Georgia. The purpose of this position is to maintain sanitary conditions within the Fitness Complex premises to include cleaning, trash disposal, and providing general upkeep.

Experience must demonstrate the following:

Knowledge and skill sufficient to read signs, follow simple oral and written instructions. Ability to work safely while moving lightweight objects. Ability to use powered equipment and perform minor maintenance on equipment. Ability to learn Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Ability to exercise continual care, due to nature of tools and equipment used, and the weight of objects handled. Ability to receive instructions and complete routine duties involving several distinct tasks or steps independently or with little to no supervision. Ability to exert moderately heavy physical effort in controlling heavy equipment, carrying and setting up heavy equipment. Ability to continually stand, bend, stoop, and reach; frequently lifting and moving objects weighing about 40 lbs. and occasionally objects weighing over 50 lbs. Ability to be exposed to dirt and disagreeable odors.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
