This National Guard position is for an EQUIPMENT SPECIALIST (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D1257000 and is part of the Oregon National Guard DCSLOG, National Guard.
Requirements:
Areas of Consideration:Area 1 - Current permanent and indefinite T32 technicians of the Oregon ARNG.
Area 2 - Current permanent and indefinite T5 employees of the Oregon ARNG.
Area 3 - Current service members in the Oregon ARNG.
Area 4 - Individuals in the active duty Army, Army Reserve or Army National Guard.
Area 5 - US Citizens eligible to meet the military requirements for membership in the Oregon ARNG.
GENERAL EXPERIENCE:
Work involves supervising, leading, or performing administrative work that involves collecting, analyzing, interpreting, and developing specialized information about equipment. Work also involves providing advisory services to those who design, test, produce, procure, supply, operate, repair, or dispose of equipment. Work may also involve developing or revising equipment maintenance programs. The work requires applying an intensive and practical knowledge of the characteristics, properties, and uses of equipment. Experience, education, or training which has provided the applicant with knowledge of one or more classes of equipment. The experience must include knowledge of standard shop terminology. A basic knowledge of mechanical principles relating to equipment. Experience must demonstrate the ability to read and interpret blue prints and technical publications. Knowledge is of the type gained from technical training, education, and experience in functions such as repairing, overhauling, maintaining, constructing, or inspecting equipment. Experience using computer and automation systems.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Must have at least one-year equivalent to at least next lower grade level (GS-07) that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled . Experience, education, or training which provided knowledge and skill in applying commonly used equipment, facility, or service principles and concepts. Experience in the use of tools and test equipment. Experience which provided knowledge of maintenance programs and techniques. Knowledge and skill in applying principles, concepts, and methods of equipment design. Experience in the use of tools and test equipment. Experience developing, installing, inspecting, or revising equipment maintenance programs and techniques.
QUALITY RANKING FACTOR: GCSS-Army access and experience will be considered as part of higher-level qualifications.
TO QUALIFY FOR THIS POSITION, YOU MUST HAVE:
A. At least one-year of experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level (GS-07) that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled.
OR
B. A Master's degree or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree. Education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
OR
C. A combination of Experience as described in "A" above and Education as described in "B" above.
