Description:

Our client, a large Construction and Manufacturing Company with over 40 years of experience in the industry. They are Florida-based and over completed over 10,000 projects in the state. They provide design, manufacturing and installation services. They are seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team!

Salary/Hourly Rate:

$50,000 – $65,000

Position Overview:

The Staff Accountant will prepare reports to track financial activities related to cash management, as well as assisting with special projects and analysis. The Staff Accountant handles documenting and recording adjustments: Working with the Regional Controller to ensure that refunds, write-offs, and credits are correctly documented in the system.

Responsibilities of the Staff Accountant:

  • Monthly bank reconciliations: Compiling the bank statements for all accounts and matching them against internal financial records
  • Analyzing cash balance: Checking cash balances daily and taking note of any changes. Ensuring to record any transactions that have not been posted
  • Communicating with Division Management and Controllers: Collaborating with stakeholders
  • Regularly reviewing the account and ensuring any unapplied cash or customer advances are properly accounted for
  • Reviewing the aged trial balance to monitor receivables. Following up with locations about respective collection updates
  • Documenting the beginning balance, additions, subtractions, and the ending balance for each period
  • Overseeing uncollectible AR accounts: Reviewing accounts that are doubtful for collection and making necessary adjustments to allowance accounts
  • Assisting with month-end close entries and special projects as assigned by the Controller

Qualifications for the Staff Accountant:

  • 1+ years of experience in accounting
  • Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Excellent analytical and organizational skills

Education Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or related field is preferred
