Description:

This National Guard position is for a IT Specialist (NETWORK) (Title 5), Position Description Number T5235000 and is part of the G6 Network Operations Center, located in Saint George, UT with the Utah National Guard.

This selecting supervisor is LTC Carter Frandsen.

Priority will be given to all current, onboard employees of the UTNG.

Basic Requirements:
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving - Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. Specialized Experience:
Must have at least 36 months experience that demonstrated accomplishment of computer project assignments that required a wide range of knowledge of computer requirements and techniques. Develops methods and procedures and coordinates corrective action to optimize network performance. Researches, tests and evaluates software packages which provide performance measurements of the WAN. Develops the standard configuration software loads for all network devices. Determines the use of network devices such as servers, workstations, and peripheral devices, and remote access systems. Develops plans and procedures for remote installation of applications and upgrades using state of the art software distribution methods. Oversees the distribution of applications and upgrades ensuring compliance with regulations and copyright laws.
