Description:

You will serve as a RESEARCH PSYCHOLOGIST in the Health and Behavioral Sciences Department at the Naval Health Research Center of NAVHLTHRSCHCEN SDIEGO.

This announcement uses the Expansion of Direct Hire Authority Personnel of the Department of Defense to recruit and appoint qualified candidates to certain positions in the competitive service.

Requirements:

BASIC REQUIREMENTS:

Degree: major or equivalent in psychology for all specializations except clinical psychology and counseling psychology.

EXPERIENCE:
In addition to the Basic Requirements listed above. Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Synthesizing the current state of research in a given domain to identify new and emerging issues in need of empirical study, generating and developing new hypotheses and theories for study and testing; Securing funding from governing sources, e.g., (military and other government), or private research funding sponsors; Planning, coordinating, and executing scientific research; Adapting or developing novel methods for recruiting participants, sampling populations, assessing constructs of interest, and analyzing data; Developing, implementing, and evaluating novel programs designed to promote positive health outcomes; Writing and editing manuscripts, briefings, presentations, and other reports; Publishing numerous scientific reports in peer-reviewed journals; Delivering research briefings on complex and technical topics to stakeholders and a myriad of diverse groups, (e.g., government officials; military medical, policy, and line leadership; funding sponsors; and the general scientific community.)
