This position is located at Fire Island National Seashore (U.S. National Park Service) (nps.gov) in the Office of the Superintendent.

Credit will be given for all appropriate qualifying experience. To receive credit for experience, your resume MUST clearly indicate the nature of the duties and responsibilities for each position, starting and ending dates of employment (month/year), and the resume must reflect full and/or part-time or total number of hours worked (i.e., work 40+ hours a week, rather than indicating full-time). If part-time, the hours must be annotated to be able to pro-rate the amount of qualified specialized experience.

To qualify for this position at the GS-12 grade level, you must possess the following minimum qualifications by close of the announcement:

EXPERIENCE: At least one full year of specialized experience comparable in scope and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service (obtained in either the public or private sectors). This experience includes activities such as: managing the production of environmental compliance documents as an environmental compliance coordinator; leading or coordinating the compliance process to ensure adherence with the National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA) and other federal environmental laws; reviewing proposed actions and ensuring that environmental effects are considered in planning and decision-making, (considerations are documented, and opportunity is provided for public involvement); managing, administering, and coordinating programs or projects to achieve and maintain environmental compliance of ongoing operations or remediate past environmental violations or compliance problems; establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with project managers and interdisciplinary team members in minimizing environmental impacts; and coordinating or consulting with various State or Federal resource and regulatory agencies and non-government entities regarding environmental issues. You must include hours per week worked.

Demonstrated experience in evaluating/analyzing conditions within a coastal system and seashore environment (i.e. coastal erosion patterns, sea level rise).
