This position is located in the Legal Division, Resolution & Receivership Branch, Resolution & Receivership Policy Section of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation in Washington, D.C.
The Assistant General Counsel manages the planning, coordinating, and executing of FDIC's legal policy and program initiatives in the areas of receivership operations, receivership policy, and special issues.
Salary reflects a pay cap for this position of $310,000.

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, skills, and abilities can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: All applicants must submit a resume that addresses each minimum qualification experience. Leadership Experience 1: Experience in managing a legal office, evidencing a demonstrated ability to effectively manage programs and work of others. Broad and general practice background and experience in commercial and business law with emphasis in banking related areas; AND
Leadership Experience 2: Experience in operating through subordinate managers conducting legal services and counsel. Legal experience leading collaborative efforts or assisting in running an organizational unit that involves work of a highly technical (legal) nature that has a major impact on an agency's financial regulatory and supervisory functions.
Technical Experience: Experience providing management of matters involving the FDIC’s role as a receiver or conservator of failing or failed financial institutions; Experience coordinating the negotiation and consummation of settlements, workouts, and restructures that arise out of the liquidation of failed financial institutions; and Experience providing legal advice and assistance that arise from the FDIC’s role as receiver or conservator of failing or failed institutions.
Basic Qualification Requirement: License to practice before the highest court of a state, territory, commonwealth, or the District of Columbia and in good standing.
