The 846 TS works with DoD and other customers to develop, design, and execute high speed rocket sled ground tests that simulate selected portions of the flight environment in support of the development of aerospace weapon systems and other flight hardware.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
1. Professional knowledge of civil engineering concepts, principles, and practices and familiarity with architectural and other engineering disciplines to effectively apply advanced theories and scientific methods to project development, execution, and advisory services.
2. Knowledge of a broad range of engineering and construction standards, methods, practices, and techniques, materials, and equipment to determine compliance with federal, state, and local codes and regulations; of standard contracting regulations, practices, and procedures as it relates to facilities engineering; knowledge of health, safety, and environmental requirements as outlined in applicable standards, regulations, and/or technical orders; of environmental principles, practices, procedures, laws, regulations, and current legislative issues; of work classifications and the regulatory and statutory restrictions on the expenditures of appropriated funds.
3. Knowledge of the mission, roles, functions, organizational structure, and operation of the DoD, Air Force, and organizations that govern, interface with, and/or influence infrastructure systems acquisition, development, and/or sustainment; and knowledge of planning, programming, and budgeting cycles, financial systems, and restrictions on expenditure of funds.
4. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and, other engineering disciplines, scientific concepts, and/or mathematical and statistical analysis.
5. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective relationships, building consensus and coalitions, negotiating, and resolving conflicts with a variety of individuals and organizations as well as communicating effectively, both orally and in writing.
6. Ability to plan, organize, and direct the functions of a team, and confer with co-workers effectively.
