About the Position: Serves as a Security Guard for the National Museum of the United States (NMUSA). Performs a full range of duties to include performing various aspects of enforcing rules and regulations governing traffic control, parking, building or other facility access, and physical security breaches.Requirements:
Competition for Security Guard positions is restricted by law to persons entitled to Veterans preference as long as such applicants are available for appointment. In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes detection and prevention of theft, damage, and/or trespassing, performing vehicle searches, confiscating unauthorized items, directing traffic flow, verifying identification and controlling access to premises. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
