This position is in Region 10, Water Division, Permitting, Drinking Water, & Infrastructure Branch, Groundwater & Drinking Water Section. About Region 10: Region 10
This is an office-centered position*--you must physically report to the duty station stated in this announcement on a regular basis.

In addition to the basic entry education requirements, you must have specialized experience and/or directly related education as described below:
To qualify for the GS-13 level, you must have 1 year of full-time* specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-12 level defined as implementing the Safe Drinking Water Act and regulations, overseeing state drinking water programs and regulating tribal drinking water system. Conducting drinking water PWSS program and file reviews. Perform data analysis to assess public water system compliance with the SDWA and regulations.
Your answers to the online assessment will be used to evaluate your competencies in the following areas:
- Knowledge of the SDWA regulations and policies.
- Knowledge of the Public Water System Supervision (PWSS) policies and guidance.
- Knowledge of the Public Water System Supervision (PWSS) policies and guidance.
- Skill in applying drinking water technical standards during program reviews.
- Skill in oral communication sufficient to provide guidance and assistance on complex aspects of environmental protection policies, plans, and programs.
- Skill in writing sufficient to prepare complex, detailed reports, presentations, and briefing materials.
- Skill in providing assistance to tribes on their drinking water utilities.
- Knowledge of PWSS Tribal Program policies, guidelines, and regulations.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
