Serves as the Branch Chief for the Advanced Computing and Visualization Branch within the Systems Engineering and Architecture Division, responsible for administrative and technical supervision of the branch. You will lead a team of highly skilled computing, data analysis, and information technology professionals providing advanced scientific computing, visualization, data analytics, tool development and integration, and software engineering capabilities for research and engineering projects.Requirements:
In addition to the Basic Education Requirement (in the Education section below), to qualify for this position you must meet the requirements below and have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade, which has equipped you with the particular competencies needed to successfully perform the duties of the position described above.NASA utilizes OPM-approved qualification and rating requirements specific for Aerospace Technology (AST) positions which recognizes NASA's unique aerospace work. The specific qualifications and minimum education requirements are further described below and within the education section of the job announcement.
To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level: Leading technical teams in developing and applying advanced techniques for modeling, simulation, data analytics, data science and/or tool development for research or engineering projects; Reviewing and evaluating team progress and performance to evaluate achievement of and compliance with programmatic and technical requirements; and Leading planning and technical management functions to assess risks, technical schedules and cost drivers for a program/projects.
