The GS-11 salary range starts at $82,764.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.To qualify for the GS-11, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-09 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is participating in the development of media programs and strategies to produce timely coverage of important issues and breaking news stories; assisting in developing written informational materials for dissemination to the general public; and assisting in responding to news media inquiries.
OR
1. A Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or have successfully completed 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree, or LL.M., if related.
OR
2. Possess a combination of graduate level education beyond the first 2 years of progressive graduate study and appropriate experience that together meet the qualification requirement of this position.
The GS-12 salary range starts at $99,200.00 per year. If you are a new federal employee, your starting salary will likely be set at the Step 1 of the grade for which you are selected.To qualify for the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 level or higher in the Federal service.
Specialized experience is developing media programs and strategies to produce timely coverage of important issues and breaking new stories; developing written informational materials for dissemination to the general public; and responding to news media inquiries either personally or arranging for a response by officials.
