You will serve as an AIR CONDITIONING EQUIPMENT MECHANIC in the Public Works Department of Naval Facilities Engineering Command

Applicant must possess a Universal EPA Refrigerant Certification (includes completion of 608 cert exam) issued by the Environmental Protection Agency. You must attach a copy of this certification to your application package to be considered for the position.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Interpreting instructions, specifications and blueprints to repair air conditioning and refrigeration systems; 2) Troubleshooting air conditioning and refrigeration system operations to detect component malfunctions; and 3) Installing and repairing a variety of large commercial and industrial refrigeration, and air conditioning equipment. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
