About the Position: This position is located in Nutrition Care Division at Tripler Army Medical Center, HITripler AMC is a tobacco-free workplace. Tobacco products include, but are not limited to, smoking, smokeless tobacco, and electronic nicotine delivery devices.

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) FOOD SERVICE WORKER~ without more than normal supervision. To meet the screen out element applicants should document experience taking inventory, replacing expired bulk items and labeling and distributing trays or supplement feedings. I can use portion control scales and measuring devices to apportion individual items according to standardized recipes. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

- Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (Other Than Blueprint Reading)
- Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment

- PHYSICAL EFFORT: Work includes duties requiring light to heavy physical efforts, such as frequently lifting items weighing up to 45 pounds (trays of food or dishes); frequent pushing tray service carts, utility carts, etc. when fully loaded. Work involves constant walking, pushing, standing, and frequent talking, stooping, bending, and lifting.
- WORKING CONDITIONS: Work areas are often uncomfortably warm and noisy, e.g., noisy kitchen and dishwashing areas. Worker is exposed to the danger of minor cuts, bruises, and burns from equipment. There is danger of slipping on floors, which are wet from daily mopping or where food or beverages have been spilled. Work is performed on non-resilient tile flooring. Incumbent is exposed to extreme temperature changes in moving from hot kitchen areas to walk-in cold storage areas. Workers may be exposed to hostility or other unnatural reactions from patients, along with potential unpleasant sights and smells of patient care areas. Works under established time deadlines.
