Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing duties supervising operational law enforcement activities to ensure standards and equipment is issued and maintained, identifying developmental and training needs, coordinating emergency responses between assigned patrol officers, fire, and other emergency units in order to respond to calls concerning reports of violations or complaints, arrest and apprehension of violators, and identifying problem areas and makes necessary changes in policies and procedures to correct deficiencies.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
