Description:

The AOC is accepting applications for a Supervisory Facility Operations Specialist to assist with strategic planning and provide overall direction, planning and deployment of resources of the operations of the Supreme Court’s Electrical & Elevator Branch, Grounds Branch, and the Day, Evening, and night sections of the Maintenance Branch.

You must meet the United States Office of Personnel Management's (OPM) qualification requirements (including specialized experience and/or educational requirements) for the advertised position. You must meet all eligibility and qualifications requirements by the closing date of the job announcement. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the position to be filled. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the next lower grade level.

Candidates for the GS-14 grade level must have at least 52 weeks of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal service.

Specialized experience is defined as having experience: (1) Managing a maintenance program for office or apartment building complexes, hospitals, recreation facilities, military or other special-purpose installations, including planning maintenance activities, and developing preventive maintenance programs; (2) Conducting surveillance activities over construction and maintenance operations performed by a variety of private contractors, including reviewing project plans, specifications for workability and facility condition assessments; (3) Assisting in managing and technically directing contract administration activities. Includes monitoring contractor activities through personal contact or review of performance data to ensure compliance with technical, financial and delivery requirements of the contract; and (4) Performing administrative and technical supervision of people in the performance of facility maintenance and repair work.
