Description:

This position is assigned to the Community Recreation Division: Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department; Commander, Navy Installations Command (CNIC). The purpose of this position is to perform duties commonly found in a variety of work situations and incidental to many different occupations in MWR, such as grounds maintenance, warehouses, facilities, and rental operations. This involves heavy labor, the use of hand and power tools, operating motor vehicles, towed, and large equipment.

A qualified candidate must possess:

Knowledge of safe and efficient operating techniques of various large equipment and power tools; (Operates a variety of power equipment to include, but not limited too: posthole diggers, blowers, weed eaters, power washers, mowers, box trucks with lift gate, etc.
Ability to operate and control riding mowers on slopes which requires constant attention to working space and environment. Ability to safely operate equipment around buildings, walls, trees, fence lines, banks and hillsides, trenches, curbs, rocks and other visible obstacles. Ability to operate various controls and levers to maneuver equipment and lift/lower, adjust, engage/disengage components or attached devices. Knowledge and skill using hand tools and other equipment such as: shovels, rakes, hammers, bars, saws, axes, loppers, wrenches, brushes, brooms, ladders, banding equipment, and pallet jacks. Ability to complete assignments involving several tasks by following detailed processes which require remembering directions, sequences, following simple drawings, etc. Ability to follow general instructions or read simple drawings to perform tasks requiring significant manual skill.
