The Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) measures labor market activity, working conditions, price changes, and productivity in the U.S. economy to support public and private decision making.
This position is inside the bargaining unit.
Requirements:
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications to qualify for each grade they wish to be considered for.For the GS-9 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-7 grade level; OR a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related; OR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 18 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Examples of specialized experience are: Participated in reviewing closeouts submitted by the states at the completion of the grant period; Answered basic questions for state grant awardees to clarify, interpret, and resolve routine issues; Collected and compiled data for operating budget and expenditures. Developed and maintained an automated system of monthly monitoring and reporting on expenditures and projecting expenses and funds available.
For the GS-11 level: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-9 grade level; OR a PH.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related; OR an appropriate combination of specialized experience and education (only graduate education in excess of 36 semester hours may be used to qualify applicants for this grade level). The education must have been obtained in an accredited college or university and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work.
Examples of specialized experience are: Participated in preparing and processing grants and ensures compliance with reporting requirements; Assisted in the review, analysis, and evaluation of routine grants/agreement applications; Reviewed program expenditures on a monthly and quarterly basis to identify deviations from plans; Reconciled financial data, property inventory, and resources on order; Identified closeout deficiencies.
