Description:

This position is located at the IHS OKC Area Office and reports directly to the Area CIO. The purpose of the position is to perform a wide variety of activities related to HHS, IHS, and Oklahoma City Area (OCA) information technology (IT) security, network and telecommunications infrastructure to ensure operational continuity of all services. The incumbent will serve as the Information Systems Security Officer (ISSO) for the OCA.

Requirements:

To qualify for this position, your resume must state sufficient experience and/or education, to perform the duties of the specific position for which you are applying.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
Individuals must have IT-related experience demonstrating each of the four competencies listed below. Such experience is typically gained in the IT field or through the performance of work where the primary concern is IT.
Attention to Detail - Is thorough when performing work and conscientious about attending to detail. Customer Service - Works with clients and customers (that is, any individuals who use or receive the services or products that your work unit produces, including the general public, individuals who work in the agency, other agencies, or organizations outside the Government) to assess their needs, provide information or assistance, resolve their problems, or satisfy their expectations; knows about available products and services; is committed to providing quality products and services. Oral Communication - Expresses information (for example, ideas or facts) to individuals or groups effectively, taking into account the audience and nature of the information (for example, technical, sensitive, controversial); makes clear and convincing oral presentations; listens to others, attends to nonverbal cues, and responds appropriately. Problem Solving- Identifies problems; determines accuracy and relevance of information; uses sound judgment to generate and evaluate alternatives, and to make recommendations. In addition to the Basic Requirements, you must also meet the Minimum Qualifications stated below.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
GS-12-Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: evaluate systems compliance with IT security requirements; provide guidance and technical support to managers, program staff, and development staff on IT security and security infrastructure; Conduct system security evaluations, audits, and reviews for compliance with IT guidelines; Provide oversight and guidance in implementing IT security policies; Provide oversight, authorization and annual review for access requests for a wide-range of systems.
