This position is located in the Facilities/Maintenance Branch, Morale, Welfare and Recreation (MWR) Department, Naval Station, Great Lakes, Illinois. The incumbent is ultimately responsible for janitorial service, repair and maintenance, minor construction for all recreational, food and beverage, and child care facilities. A majority of the construction projects are performed by outside contractors or Navy Public Works shops.Requirements:

The incumbent must be high school graduate or have an equivalent diploma and six years of related experience in construction trades. Through education or experience the incumbent must have technical review skills, project specification skills, AutoCAD or use of another computer generated drafting program, and have the ability to use general office software such as Microsoft Office programs. The incumbent must have the ability to determine the range and depth of materials, repair parts and tools necessary for maintenance support. Four years' experience in a supervisory capacity. Ability to work in close coordination with military and civilian counterparts in and outside of own activity. Ability to make sound and independent judgements in the solution of repair and construction problems related to electrical, plumbing, carpentry, masonry and general building systems.
