In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. To qualify based on your experience, your resume must describe at least one year of experience which prepared you to do the work in this job. Specialized experience is defined as experience 1) conducting personnel security investigations to process security requests; 2) coordinating Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) inspections; AND 3) applying security policies, procedures, and/or principles with developing sensitive compartmented information facilities (SCIF) plans. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GG/GS-09).
Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
OR
A Ph.D or equivalent Degree that is closely related to the position. Closely Related constitutes a degree which has educated the student in pertinent, specific position-related subject matter allowing the student to develop knowledge and abilities directly applicable to the position being filled such as National Security Studies, Political Science, International Relations/Foreign Affairs, Geography, Security Management/Administrations, Criminal Justice, Psychology, History, or Law. Specialized experience is progressively responsible intelligence-related security work directly related to the position being filled.
