You will serve as an A/C Launching & Arresting Devices Repairer in the FRCMA VRT DEPT, FLEET READINESS CENTER MID ATLANTIC of FLTREADCEN DET MID ATLANTIC PAX RIVER.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF THE POSITION WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION: 1) Inspecting and maintaining shipboard and shore-based catapult, arresting gear, and visual landing aids; 2) Performing test operations on machinery and altering equipment to provide access or permit observation during tests or experiments; 3) Installing and repairing various regulating controls and safety devices such as meters, safety valves and automatic alarms; 4) Installing service changes, repairs and aligns pumps, performs hydrostatic tests on valves, hydraulic cylinders, heat exchangers and pneumatic components; and 5) Utilizing shop sketches, job orders, diagrams, blueprints, and manufacturers' specifications to perform work. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
