You will serve as a SUPERVISORY GENERAL ENGINEER in the DIRECTORATE MARITIME OPERATIONS, ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT of MILITARY SEALIFT COMMAND.Requirements:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-13 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:Experience overseeing the engineering design, construction, and modification of MSC ships to ensure that MSC requirements and standards are being adhered to, particularly in areas of operability, reliability, habitability, maintainability, life cycle cost effectiveness, safety and compliance. Experience with advanced marine engineering concepts, principles, and practices regarding the full range of engineering skills and marine trades associated with commercial ship construction, modification, and conversion programs to provide expert and consultative recommendations. Experience with commercial shipyard production procedures including progression, planning, construction techniques, and procedures related to government contracts and the ability to apply new developments to problems not readily treatable by accepted methods. Experience reviewing complex ship construction drawings, technical reports by consultant engineers in various specialties, and complex design calculations.
