CIVIL ENGINEER

Description:

You will serve as a Civil Engineer in the Engineering Department, Crane Design Division, Structural Branch, Navy Crane Center of NCC.

Requirements:

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-11 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Applying full mastery of professional structural engineering, as well as multi­discipline engineering principles and established industry practices; 2) Possessing professional knowledge of structural engineering principles applicable to the full range of engineering duties, and skill in applying this knowledge to difficult and complex work assignments; 3) Applying original thinking, analytical approaches, and ingenuity to solve the most difficult problems of nonrecurring nature, he/she analyzes assigned project requirements, identifying potential problem areas; 4) Reviewing and approving structural design calculations, methods of analysis, fabrication/assembly drawings of complex or uncommon types, research materials requirements and properties which are not available from reference books or industry publications and performs preliminary estimates of key loads and dimensions for applicable designs.
