Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of an Laborer without more than normal supervision including relocating, lifting furniture, fixtures, and equipment and installing museum exhibits; custodial duties to include scrubbing and waxing floors, vacuuming rugs, cleaning and restocking, shovels snow, sweeps and polices areas. Application of crowd control, answers visitors questions and facilitate building security. - Failure to meet this Screen Out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Ability to Do the Work of the Position without More Than Normal Supervision Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading) Ability To Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment Dexterity and Safety Work Practices (Including Keeping Things Neat, Clean, and in Order) Physical Effort The duties involve the movement/handling of equipment and furniture which require heavy physical effort in lifting, moving objects weighing over 50 pounds. Assistance is provided for objects over 50 pounds. The duties involved in protecting the Museum from damage by exercising crowd control involve continuous standing and walking. Subject to injury when lifting or moving furniture, exhibits and display cases or while using tools during installation, repairs, maintenance work. Exposed to conditions inherent in cleaning assignments, irritation from the use of hot/cold water, cleaning compounds, solutions and detergents. Work Conditions In the Museum, work is performed inside with adequate heat, lighting and ventilation.
