In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Must be at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) and have the ability to speak, read and write English. Must be able to lift 40 lbs or more and stand for long periods of time. Must satisfactorily complete mandatory training as specified below. Must possess maturity and good judgment and like working with children/youth and their parents. Must have the ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe manner. Must provide a copy of driving record and have a good driving record if required to transport children. SPECIALIZED REQUIREMENT: One year at the CY02 level or equivalent. This position requires the incumbent to have completed an Associate of Arts degree in early childhood education, youth development, or related fields or have a Child Development Associate credential or a Youth Development credential (must remain current). The incumbent is subject to random testing for drug use.
