In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must have general experience which provided a basic knowledge of and ability to perform basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and electrical and household/small appliance repairs. Must be skilled in the use of common hand tools, power equipment and in measuring and aligning items to be installed. Skilled in application of fertilizers, sprays, and similar chemicals. Must be able to operate lawn equipment (push/riding mowers, trimmers, etc.). Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Trade/vocational school certification and/or training is desirable. Basic clerical experience is desirable. Must be physically able to lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds; occasionally heavier objects with assistance. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical examination. Must possess a valid state driver's license. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI). Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
