Description:
The purpose of this position is to identify patients with eligibility for alternate resources and assisting them with the enrollment process at the Crownpoint Healthcare Facility, Crownpoint, New Mexico. This position will report to the Supervisory Health System Specialist under the Division of Administrative Services - Business Office, Patient Registration/Patient Benefits Department with Crownpoint Healthcare Facility in Crownpoint, NM.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer and part time experience. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
BASIC REQUIREMENT(S):
GS-06: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-05 grade level
GS-07: One (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-06 grade level
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one (1) year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector performing the following type of work and/or tasks: Experience working in a health care delivery system or similar system to respond to inquiries from individuals as they relate to the type of health services the medical facility can provide and the types of alternate resources available. Ability to solve problems or educate individuals about medical health programs and procedures, including tasks such as assisting patients in applications for health related programs, interviewing patients and or a family member to obtain pertinent and accurate information, research current information involving changes in rules and regulations for alternate resources and determines the eligibility of patients seeking health care.
Time-In-Grade Requirements: Merit Promotion (status) candidates must have completed one year of service at the next lower grade level. Time-In-Grade provisions do not apply under the Excepted Service Examining Plan (ESEP).
