About the Position: Incumbent will work for the Directorate of Public Works Operations and Maintenance Division Building and Ground Branch at the Yakima Training Center in Yakima, WA.Requirements:

Minimum Qualifications (Screen Out Element): Ability to do the work of a(n) Engineering Equipment Opertor~ without more than normal supervision. ability to perform common tasks such as clear brush and back fill; plow snow, dig trenches and move materials; assist with preventive maintenance on assigned equipment. Working under supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who reviews work for completion. - Failure to meet this Screen out Element will result in an ineligible rating.
Ability To Do The Work Of The Position Without More Than Normal Supervision (Screen-out Element) Ability to Drive Safely (Motor Vehicles) Ability To Interpret Instructions, Specifications, etc. (related to mobile equipment operation) Ability to perform Motor Vehicle Operator duties w/o more than normal supervision Operation of Motor Vehicles Reliability and Dependability as a Engineering Equipment Operator Work Practices (includes keeping things neat, clean, and in order) Physical Efforts: A heavy physical effort is used through constant bending, reaching, turning, and moving of hands, arms, feet, and legs to handle different sets of controls. A considerable strain is caused by constant vibration and jerking and jolting from operations over rough surfaces. Frequently required to work in awkward or strained positions. Must meet the minimum requirements for a light work capacity test which consists of a 1-mile walk completed within 16 minutes. Working Conditions: The incumbent works in all types of weather (hot, dry, cold, wet, windy) often in open driver's seat or platform on hills, slopes, grades, and rolling surfaces. Exposed to possible cuts, bruises, scrapes, sprains, when operating and handling equipment, and injury due to possible overturning of equipment. Subject to noise, vibration, dust, dirt, and fumes.
