THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a TRAINING TECHNICIAN (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D0928000 and is part of the IL DCSOPS, National Guard.

Requirements:

AREA OF CONSIDERATION: The areas of considerations for this position, Title 32 Excepted Service (32 U.S. Code § 709), will be in the following manner and sequence:

  • The FIRST area of consideration for this position will be all excepted permanent and indefinite temporary technicians within the ILNG.
  • The SECOND area of consideration will be all current Federal Employees.
  • The THIRD area of consideration will be all Federal re-employment eligible.
  • The FOURTH area of consideration will be applicants willing to become T32 Dual Status Technicians and gain ILNG membership.
  • The FIFTH area of consideration will U.S. Citizens.

    Military Grades: Enlisted, Minimum Rank of SGT. Maximum Rank of SFC.

    GENERAL EXPERIENCE: Must possess experience, education, or training that demonstrates the ability to follow directions, read, understand, and retain instructions, regulations, and procedures that otherwise demonstrates the ability to perform or learn to perform the duties of the position.

    SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: GS-09 Level- Must possess specialized experience which includes at least 12 months of basic knowledge of Army vision, values, organization, policy, and mission is mandatory; knowledge in training centers, training programs, schools, and units for these systems; experience conducting, supervising and developing education and training programs; experience managing programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries; knowledge of audio-visual presentations, educational tests and measurements, and instructing techniques; knowledge of Army education and training programs in regard to their principles, policies, and procedures; experience performing interviews and counseling techniques, training techniques and instruction methods, task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products; effective writing skills, editing practices, instructional media applications, training reports, program and curriculum validation, and training implementation procedures; experience in training program management, scheduling training events and facilities, conducting assistance visits and training meetings, work center and individual job qualification standard development, education institution registration requirements, military personnel classification system and policies, communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts; experience in effective communication; experience presenting professional courses and briefings; proficiency in writing reports and records; experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events; experience organizing and preparing instructional materials; ability to develop course syllabi, training project outlines, and daily and weekly lesson plans; experience preparing assignments, laboratory exercises, demonstrations, training aids, and references and related material required to parallel and supplement course outline; experience instructing personnel, determining the instructional methods for class size and subject matter, instructing students by lectures, discussions, demonstrations, group activities, and laboratory work; experience using audiovisual aids such as, mockups, graphs, training films, and film strips; experience using training aids such as, achievement and aptitude tests and rating scales; experience identifying and conducting individual learning difficulties, and recommending courses of remedial instruction; experience in the application of basic classroom preparations for effective instruction using controlling factors such as, temperature, ventilation, lighting, cleanliness, and arrangement of desks and equipment. GS-07 Level- Must possess specialized experience which includes at least 12 months of basic knowledge of Army vision, values, organization, policy, and mission; some knowledge in training centers, training programs, schools, and units; experience conducting, supervising, or developing education or training programs; basic understanding in the Army education and training policy requirements; experience in working programs to include developmental education, voluntary education, advanced academic education, promotion testing, and libraries; knowledge of audio-visual presentation, educational tests and measurements, and instructing techniques; knowledge of Army education and training programs in regard to their principles, and procedures; experience performing interviews and counseling techniques, training techniques and instruction methods, task analysis procedures, learning processes, curriculum development, training evaluations, and education and training systems and products, effective writing skills, editing practices, instructional media application, training reporting, program and curriculum validation, and implementation procedures; experience scheduling training events and facilities, supporting assistance visits and training meetings, assisting in work center and individual job qualification standard development, education institution registration requirements, military personnel classification system and policies; basic capabilities in communicative interpersonal skill applications and distance learning concepts; experience in effective communications; experience presenting professional courses and briefings and writing reports and records; experience as a participant and presenter during training and military or civilian conference events.


    Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
