About the position: This position is located on Joint Base Elmendorf-Richardson.This is a Regular Part Time position 20-40 hours. As a Regular employee, you are eligible to earn annual leave, sick leave and sign up for benefits to include Health/Dental and Life Insurance, 401(k) and NAF Retirement.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if the position allows for qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application.
Qualifying Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age, hold a high school diploma (or equivalent) and must speak, read and write English. Must have experience which demonstrates knowledge of and skill in operating buses capable of carrying 16 or more passengers; traffic and safety regulations, practices and procedures pertaining to motor vehicle operation (buses); and passenger safety rules. In addition, must have experience which demonstrates the ability to: communicate orally; be courteous; judge road/traffic conditions and read maps to determine the shortest and safest route; interpret instructions, specifications related to motor vehicle operation (buses); do preventive maintenance and ensure passenger safety. Must have experience which demonstrated the ability to operate, control and clean heavy powered equipment. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry heavy objects weighing more than 50 pounds. Work that does not require the skill and knowledge in operating heavy equipment continually involves extreme physical effort, such as constantly lifting or carrying objects weighing 80 to 100 pounds or more. Requires reaching, turning or moving hands, arms, feet and legs; associated duties require stooping, bending and climbing.
Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment physical, be physically and behaviorally capable of performing the duties of the job. Must possess an appropriate, valid driver's license as required by local/state law. Must satisfactorily complete a pre-employment drug test. Must be able to satisfactorily complete a National Agency Check with Inquiries (NACI), State Criminal History Repository Check (SCHRC), and Installation Records Check (IRC). Completion of CPR and First Aid training is desirable. Must hold a current Commercial Driver's License (CDL) or be able to obtain one within 6 months of employment.
