You will serve as an AC Equipment Mechanic in the Production Division NSA Hampton Roads Area, VA.

This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: (1) Performing installation, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of commercial and industrial air conditioning and refrigeration systems that provide a variety of functions such as heating, cooling, humidifying, dehumidifying, circulating and filtering air; 2) Installing, repairing, maintaining, troubleshooting, a variety of systems components such as compressors, which include gear, reciprocating, centrifugal, or rotary pump and a variety of refrigerant controls such as those with low and high pressure side floats, automatic thermostatic expansion valves, capillary or choke types, and those base on volume or quantity changes; 3) Examining, diagnosing malfunctions and making repairs to systems that include analog and direct digital control (DDC) systems used in complex heating ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems; and 4) utilizing refrigerant tables; calculating airflow and pressure-temperature characteristics for the different systems to locate problems). I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.

You must have a CFC/HFC Certification (Universal) as required by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). May be obtained upon employment.
