Description:

About the Position: Located at Detroit Dam, the central control station for 2 multipurpose hydroelectric generation facilities with 140 megawatts of power production capacity. Detroit Dam is located within the North Santiam Canyon approximately 45 miles southeast of Salem. This position has a significant amount of interaction with dam safety, water management, and hydropower production interests (internal and external to the agency) in balancing planned work and demands on the facilities.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Qualified applicants for this position must describe in their resume at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service working with power production and related equipment, or power generation, or power transmission.

You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas:

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-11).
