This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. The Screen-out Element for this position is: Ability to do the work of an Air Conditioning Equipment Mechanic without more than normal supervision performing duties such as: 1) Applying principles and theories of air conditioning and refrigeration when determining the best method for correcting malfunctions; 2) Examining, diagnosing malfunctions and making repairs to systems that include analog and/or direct digital control (DDC) systems used in complex heating ventilation; air conditioning, and refrigeration systems; and 3) Following all guidelines and procedures pertaining to the use and handling of refrigerants in accordance with all local, state and federal regulations.
