This job has a screen-out element which will be used to determine minimum eligibility for this job. Applicants who do not receive a minimum of two points on the screen-out element(s) will be found ineligible. The Screen-out Element for this position is: THE ABILITY TO DO THE WORK OF A MAINTENANCE MECHANIC WITHOUT MORE THAN NORMAL SUPERVISION. You must have the ability to perform common tasks including: 1) Welding using oxyacetylene, electric arc and other welding techniques on various metals flat, round stock and piping, and metal fabrication using shears and metal breaks to fabricate ductwork, flashing and other job specific applications; 2) Comprehensive knowledge of mechanical fundamentals used in order to effectively service and repair various types of mechanical equipment to include air compressors reciprocal and screw type, air dryers, pumps, motor controllers and related equipment; and 3) Performing visual checks of boilers, heating and air conditioning systems to determine causes of defects on equipment.
