Surgical Technologist

Job Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Surgical Technologist to join our team at the surgery center. The Surgical Technologist will work alongside surgeons, nurses, and other surgical team members to ensure the safe and efficient delivery of patient care during surgical procedures. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to a variety of surgical specialties and make a meaningful impact on patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Prepare the operating room for surgical procedures, ensuring all necessary equipment, instruments, and supplies are available and sterile.

2. Assist in positioning and preparing the patient for surgery, including proper placement of surgical drapes and securing medical devices as needed.

3. Anticipate the needs of the surgical team and provide instruments, sutures, and other supplies to the surgeon and surgical assistant as requested.

4. Handle surgical instruments and equipment with precision, passing items to the surgical team in a safe and efficient manner during procedures.

5. Maintain a sterile field throughout surgical procedures, following aseptic techniques and infection control protocols to minimize the risk of surgical site infections.

6. Prepare and handle specimens obtained during surgery, labeling and transferring them to the appropriate personnel for analysis.

7. Collaborate with perioperative team members to ensure the timely and efficient flow of patients in and out of the operating room.

8. Assist in post-operative activities, including the cleanup and restocking of the operating room, equipment, and supplies.

Qualifications and Skills:

1. Successful completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program and certification as a Certified Surgical Technologist (CST).

2. Proficiency in surgical instrumentation, equipment, and sterile processing techniques, with a strong understanding of surgical procedures and anatomy.

3. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, demonstrating adaptability, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize tasks.

4. Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with a professional and empathetic approach to patient care and interaction with surgical team members.

5. Knowledge of infection control practices, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements in the surgical setting.

6. Strong ethical conduct and adherence to patient confidentiality and privacy standards.

7. Willingness to participate in continuous learning and professional development to enhance skills and stay current with best practices in surgical technology.

Salary: $40.00 - $50.00 per hour
