Description:
Responsibilities:
- Assist surgeons during surgical procedures in an ambulatory surgery center
- Prepare operating rooms and ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are available
- Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments and equipment
- Set up and monitor surgical equipment, such as lights, suction machines, and diagnostic equipment
- Prepare patients for surgery, including positioning them on the operating table and ensuring their safety and comfort
- Assist with patient monitoring during surgery, including vital signs and anesthesia administration
- Maintain accurate medical records using Epic or other electronic medical record systems
- Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure smooth workflow and patient care
Experience:
- Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or similar role preferred
- Knowledge of surgical procedures, instruments, and equipment
- Familiarity with Epic or other electronic medical record systems
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals
