Description:

The EXIM OIG is headed by an Inspector General who is appointed by the President of the United States. The Inspector General provides independent and objective reviews of EXIM's programs (i.e., EXIM's program and operations). The Inspector General is required to keep both the Chairman and Congress fully and currently informed about the problems and deficiencies relating to the administration of EXIM's programs and operations and the necessity for corrective action.

Requirements:

Basic Requirements:

A. A degree in auditing; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, public administration, or accounting.

OR

B. Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in Performance Auditing, or an equivalent combination of performance auditing experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional auditing knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following:
A certificate as a Certified Internal Auditor or a Certified Public Accountant, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in auditing or accounting, e.g., 15 semester hours. In addition to the Basic Requirements noted above, applicants must also meet and demonstrate the specialized experience listed below:

Specialized Experience (Credit for Specialized Experience on resume must reflect 40 hours/Full-time per week for each period of work):

To qualify for the GS-15, you must possess at least one full year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable experience not gained through Federal service. Specialized experience is experience that equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position, and that is typically in or related to the work of the position to be filled. Specialized experience is defined as demonstrated experience in:
Conducting and/or leading management reviews, program evaluations, and audits ensuring that those reviews are conducted in compliance with professional standards, including Generally Accepted Government Auditing Standards (GAGAS or Yellow Book) as prescribed by the Government Accountability Office (GAO), Council of the Inspectors General for Integrity and Efficiency (CIGIE) Quality Standards for Inspection and Evaluation (QSIE or Blue Book), and Standards for Internal Control in the Federal Government (Green Book); and OA policies and procedures; Providing specific advice, guidance, and oversight of financial management and financial statement audits; Determining the relevance, importance, and veracity of facts and statements; and Conducting analyses and making reports and presentations on the findings and recommendations.
