Description:

This position s located in the Office of Budget, Finance, and Award Management (BFA).The incumbent primary purpose is to conduct program evaluations in the areas such as administrative processes, communication, and records management and provide recommendations to leadership to increase efficiencies and effectiveness for the Division.

This is a paid internship opportunity under the Pathways Internship Program which provides students opportunities to work in agencies and explore Federal careers.

Requirements:

Applicants must be enrolled at least half-time in an accredited academic institution and have a 2.5 GPA or higher to be eligible for a Pathways Internship Appointment.

To qualify at the GS -5 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-4 Level providing customer service related to daily business operations. Examples of this experience may include: responsibility for identifying problems, gathering data, and recognizing solutions; planning and organizing work; and communicating orally and in writing.

OR Have completed a full 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree, in an accredited college or university.

OR Posses a combination of post high school education and work experience that in combination meet the requirements for this position.

To qualify at the GS -7 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-5 Level in assisting in the development and execution of program development. Examples of specialized experience may include: gathering, extracting, reviewing and consolidating data in the formulation of reports; assisting senior analysts in the preparation of program reports; performing research of laws and regulations; and participating as a team member to complete special projects.

OR Possess 1 full year of graduate level education.

OR Meet 1 of the following Superior Academic Achievement standards: In the upper one third of my graduating class; OR a GPA of 3.0 or higher out of 4.0 as recorded on my official transcript, or based on courses completed during my final 2 years.

OR Possess a combination of post high school education and experience that combined meet the qualification requirements for this position.

To qualify at the GS -9 level, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-7 Level in the Federal service performing analytical and evaluative methods and techniques for assessing program development or execution and improving organizational effectiveness and efficiency. Examples of specialized experience include: conducting analysis of financial matters; using various data management systems to identify patterns/trends, and track/monitor analytical activities; & assisting in the performance of management studies to evaluate programs and offer recommendations.

OR Possess a Master's or equivalent graduate degree.

OR Possess 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a Master`s or equivalent graduate degree.

OR Possess a combination of post high school education and experience that combined meet the qualification requirements for this position.

Experience refers to paid/unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) & other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, & skills & can provide valuable training/experience that translates directly to paid work. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
