THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 5 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION.

This National Guard position is for a GENERAL SUPPLY SPECIALIST (TITLE 5), Position Description Number T5802100 and is part of the IL 183 WG, National Guard.

Requirements:

Time-In-Grade Requirement:

Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-9 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-7 Level. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note: Time-In Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-07) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Examples of Specialized Experience include, but are not limited to: demonstrated ability researching documents or other resources to coordinate inventory requirements; knowledge of stock levels, inventory, shipping, receiving, requisitioning and requirements of supplies and equipment; experience involving the control of supply stocks and accounting for equipment; knowledge of supply management, cataloging, maintenance, and disposal procedures; experience which required person-to-person contacts to convey information and ability to compile reports, letters, memoranda, etc.; demonstrated experience with cost estimates, budgets, or funding management; experience conducting extensive and exhaustive searches for required information; reconstruct records for complex supply transactions; and/or provide supply operations support for supply activities.

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work, or equivalent graduate degree (LL.B. or J.D.), if related. NOTE: You must submit a copy of official transcripts.

OR

Combination of Specialized Experience and Education: You may meet the qualifications requirement for this position by combining your specialized experience and appropriate graduate level education according to the following formula: (a) your total months of full-time specialized experience as a percentage of a 12-month total; PLUS (b) your total number of qualifying graduate semester or quarter hours as a percentage of one year of graduate study. The total of the two percentages must equal at least 100 percent.

In order to be considered qualified, you must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level in Federal service.

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
