Description:

Serves as an Electronics Engineer within the Office of Safety and Standards, Airports Engineering Division, Airports Design and Construction Branch, and is responsible for developing standards, guidelines, specifications, and other related criteria for airfield electrical and communications systems.

Requirements:

IN ADDITION TO MEETING THE BASIC EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS SPECIFIED BELOW IN THE EDUCATION SECTION:

To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the FV-I, FG/GS-13 level. This experience is typically related to the line of work of the position to be filled and which has equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been at least equivalent to the next lower level in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization.

Specialized experience is defined as:

Experience managing the design and construction of airport lighting equipment; OR experience reviewing and analyzing the latest airport lighting technology, (i.e. light-emitting diode [LED] technology and other forms of replacement technology for incandescent lighting); OR experience analyzing the issues related to aircraft enhanced flight vision technology and night vision goggle technology.
