Description:

The primary purpose of this position is responsibility for managing and implementing multi-generational programs, both onsite and online.This supervisory position focuses on designing interactive workshops, experiences, and festivals that engage visitors of different ages, with a focus on art making and interacting with artists. This position is in the Department of Public Programs of the National Gallery of Art’s Division of Learning and Engagement.

Requirements:

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1016-12. A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, responsible for managing and implementing multi-generational programs, both onsite and online for a department with an emphasis on educational development.

1. Comprehensive knowledge of and ability to plan and implement large-scale programs in an art museum.


2. Comprehensive knowledge of best practices in museum education, art education, studio art, art history, and informal learning.

Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria: Must be available to work occasional evenings and weekends. It also involves moving materials and walking between buildings.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
