Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to concentrate on storing, recording, location tracking, moving, and handling of the art objects and their crates located in storage areas, and to assist with the planning and relocation of the Gallery’s collection to a new off-site storage facility. This position is in the Division of Registration and Loans (PRL).

Requirements:

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-1016-12. A qualified candidate's online application and resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 in the Federal service. Specialized experience is at least one year of experience, equivalent in responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, responsible for creating, maintaining and updating records on all works of art for an organization or museum.

1. Skill in the care and storage of art objects.

2. Ability to evaluate multiple options and develop the best solution to unusual, complex, or sensitive problems related to the storage of the collection.

3. Skill in management for the storage of art objects and the work requires judgment, originality, and resourcefulness to realize objectives without compromising storage standards

Other Relevant Eligibility Criteria: Must hold a valid driver’s license. Requires extended shifts. Requires weekend and evening work. Travel is required. Must be able to lift 25 pounds and operate lifts.
