In order to qualify, you must meet the education and experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. EDUCATION REQUIREMENT: All applicants must possess an earned Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD); OR an equivalent professional doctorate degree OR achieved All But Dissertation (ABD) status from a regionally accredited college or university with a concentration in history, international relation, political science, or in a comparable field related to the position. NOTE: You must attach copies of your transcripts to your application to include documentation of ABD status, if applicable.
AND
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Your resume must describe at least one year of specialized experience which includes:
1) Developing graduate and/or undergraduate level curriculum; and
2) Teaching at the graduate and/or undergraduate level; and
3) Performing academic research at the graduate and/or undergraduate level either in history, international relations, and/or political science.
You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Skill in facilitating student academic research and writing Skill in teaching small group facilitation Ability to deliver graduate level instruction/facilitation in both in-person and remote modes Skill in curriculum development or assessment methodologies Academic rank and salary will be determined based on the selectee's education and experience as outlined in the Title 10 Civilian Faculty Manual. This position will be filled at one of the following academic ranks: Instructor Assistant Professor Associate Professor Professor If you are currently serving on active duty: You MUST submit a certification from the armed forces that certifies the service member is expected to be discharged or released from active duty service in the armed forces under honorable conditions not more than 120 days after the date the certification is submitted for consideration in the hiring process. The certification MUST show the characterization of your discharge (Honorable, General, etc.). Prior to appointment, the service member's character of service and qualifying discharge or release must be verified through a DD form 214 or equivalent documentation.
