Requirements:

To qualify for this position, by the closing date of this announcement, you must possess one of the following:

(a) One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 grade level that equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position, and is directly in or related to this position.

To be creditable, specialized experience must be at the GS-11 grade level or equivalent under other pay systems in the Federal service, military, or private sector.

Specialized Experience includes:
  • Delivering customer support services, including installation, configuration, troubleshooting, customer assistance, and/or training, in response to customer requirements.
  • Restoring system failures and/or devising recovery plans as required.
  • Performing capacity monitoring, analysis, and planning for IT resources and identifying upgrades and systems improvements required to maintain or improve effectiveness of the IT environment.
  • Recommending to IT management, customer support capabilities to be incorporated into present and future IT products.
  • Managing user accounts, network rights, and access to systems and equipment, to include administering and managing passwords.

    Volunteer Experience: Your experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through a National Service program (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional, philanthropic, religious, spiritual, community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

    Additional Requirements that must be met by the closing date:
  • Physical requirements: Although some slight physical effort may be required at times, the work is primarily sedentary in nature and does not require any special physical effort or demands.
  • Time-in-grade applies to the promotion of current and former federal employees who hold or have held a permanent GS position in either the competitive or excepted service in the previous 52 weeks, including current employees applying under VEOA.   • For GS-12: You must have 52 weeks of Federal service at or equivalent to GS-11.
Time after competitive appointment. Current federal civilian employees must have completed at least 90 days of federal civilian service since being selected for a non temporary appointment from a competitive examination register of eligibles (an announcement opened to the public) or under a direct hire authority.
