IMPORTANT INFORMATION CONCERNING THIS OPEN CONTINUOUS VACANCY ANNOUNCEMENT:
This is an open continuous vacancy announcement that will be used to fill vacancies as they occur. To receive consideration for vacancies, applicants must submit a complete application prior to the established cut-off date(s). The initial cut-off date will take place on May 1, 2024, to begin the initial applicant consideration. Applications received after the initial cut-off date will be considered upon receipt of the next cut-off date. The established cutoff dates are as follows: May 31, 204 June 30, 2024 July 30, 2024 August 29, 2024 September 28, 2024 NOTE: The period of eligibility for applications is through each cut-off date. The agency will issue a list of eligible applicants at each cut-off date to hiring officials within the period of eligibility. To be considered for each cut-off, a new application must be submitted. Applicants may make changes to applications to ensure experience is current.

The GS-07 and GS-09 pay is set using the 0415 Special Pay Table. The GS-11 and GS-12 pay is set using the RUS pay table.

In addition to meeting the IOR in order to be rated as qualified for this position, we must be able to determine that you meet the qualification requirements - please be sure to include this information in your resume. No assumptions will be made about your experience.

FOR GS-07: In addition to meeting the basic education requirement, you must possess one (1) full year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-05 level that is equivalent in difficulty and complexity as indicated by the following examples:
Ability to review and recommend approval of Applications to Drill (APD) and Sundry Notices. Ability to train in the policies, regulations, and rules of BLM to effectively determine and appraise acceptability by the public and industry. Ability to train and appraise the working knowledge of other disciplines' operations and procedures of resource management. Ability to train and appraise in the legal aspects of oil and gas agreements to effectively administer compliance. Ability to train in and appraise the use of automated information systems and software to utilize BLM software in field office operations. -OR- 1 full year of graduate level education in a related field of study. -OR- Superior Academic Achievement (See OPM's General Policies, Application of Qualification Standards Section 4.f.) S.A.A. must have been gained in a curriculum that is qualifying for the position to be filled. -OR- A combination of Specialized Experience and Qualifying education

Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Physical Demands: The work is primarily sedentary. Occasional field work is required which may involve travel over rough roads, hiking or climbing, temperature extremes, and carrying field equipment in order to conduct inspections.

Work Environment: Most work is performed in an office setting. Field work involves occasional exposure to sites requiring normal safety precautions.
