This position is in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, Office of Finance.This position is not remote but is designated as telework-eligible. If you are selected, you may be eligible to request telework according to the agency's telework policy.

BASIC REQUIREMENT:
To be eligible for this position the applicant must have one of the following:
Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor."
OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include oneof the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
To qualify at the GS-09 level, you must have one-year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 obtained in the federal or private sector defined as the following: knowledge and skill in the application of procedures, methods, and techniques which support the analysis and administration of the budget; knowledge of a wide variety of financial and budgetary methods, practices, policies, procedures, regulations and precedents; knowledge of a wide range of sources, types, and methods of funding; knowledge of the accounting systems and related documents used to gather and analyze financial and budgetary information; knowledge of automated management data systems; ability to communicate orally and in writing; ability to work accurately with figures. LL.B. or J.D., if relatedExperience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through national service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills, and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
