Part of the Organization of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Will serves as a Senior Cyber Policy and Strategy Advisor in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Directorate for Strategy, Plans, and Policy (J5), Information Integration Division, for a broad range of cyber, influence, and electronic warfare (EW) strategy, plans and policy issues, including cyber plans and exercises, developing DoD strategic messaging, EW Concept of Operations staffing and approval, and integrated deterrence.Requirements:
You may qualify at the GS- 15, if you fulfill the following qualifications:One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service:
- Utilizing plans and strategy development processes within DoD and across the Interagency, to include actions for cyberspace, influence operations, and electronic warfare, associated capabilities and force structure, and operational doctrinal concepts to apply new, original, and authoritative thinking and advice to senior military and civilian leaders on policy, plans and strategy issues impacting the nation and the Department's contribution to national security policy.
- Applies Department of Defense authorities, policies, strategies and planning processes to include statutory responsibilities to draft and publish planning guidance to assist the President, Secretary of Defense, and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff to providing strategic direction for the Joint Force.
- Applies knowledge of Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff development and execution of Global Integration of cyberspace, influence operations, and electronic warfare strategies and plans through the National Military Strategy, the Joint Strategic Campaign Plan, the Global Campaign Plans, and Globally Integrated Frameworks.
- Applies knowledge of Joint Staffs role in providing military advice on cyberspace, influence, and electronic warfare strategy, plans and policy related to the interagency through the National Security Council-led Policy coordination committee, Deputies committee, and Principal committee processes. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Substitution of education may not be used in lieu of specialized experience for this grade level.
